Graduate of Texas A&M Galveston 1992 - BA in Maritime administration

Received Master's of Education/Administration in 2002 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

My wife, Lisa, and I have been married since 1994.  She is my encourager and my best friend.  She is a wonderful partner in ministry and life.  God has blessed me with a wonderful family.

I felt God's calling to full time ministry in 1999.  As I look back on what God has done in my life, I am amazed of His grace and His blessings.  I consider it a priviledge and joy to serve the Lord and to proclaim the greatest message there is: the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I love hunting, fishing and anything outdoors.  There is something powerful about being outdoors and seeing the creations of God and being alone with Him.

I have served, along with the gracious people, at FBC, Pleasanton, for 34 years through our music and Bible teaching ministries.  I graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft Worth in 1980 and prior to that Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.

My wife, Lisa, serves side by side with me as an intregal part of my life and ministry.  We have 3 adult children:  Michael, a computer analyst for Bryan ISD, Jamie, a middle school teacher in San Marcos & Landon, a student at Texas State preparing to go into law enforcement.

God has greatly blessed us by calling us to be part of this wonderful church family.  We're here to serve, to minister, to equip believers, and to share the gospel with our community and wherever our church sends us to minister in Christ's name.

This is a place where you can grow in grace by discovering your spiritual potential, be encouaged by other believers, and find many opportunities for service.

This is a praying church, a worshipping church, a caring church, and a Bible-based church seeking to spread God's light into every corner of our world.  We welcome you to come visit us and hope you'll join us in our mission of following Christ's command to make disciples wherever we go.

Youth Minister

Brian Avery

In May 2014 God brought my family and me to FBC Pleasanton.  I have served in youth ministry as a minister for almost 10 years.  I have also served as a Sunday School teacher.

The summer after my freshman year in high school, I felt God call me into the ministry.  I am so thankful that He did.  I did not know it as a youth but I am doing my dream job.  I enjoy spending time with students and helping them grow in their relationship with God.  I enjoy teaching them about the Bible and giving them opportunities to serve in the church and in the community.

Since high school, God has blessed me with a wonderful wife, Tammy.  She is my partner in my ministry.  We have been married since 1997.  We have 4 children. The older two Julia and Kyllie are in the youth group while Brian Jr. and Katie are in elementary.

I am a big sports fan.  My favorite teams are the Chicago Bears, Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks.   I enjoy playing video games and spending time with my children. My wife and I enjoy going for rides into the country on my motorcycle.

Custodian

I have been serving FBC Pleasanton for 33 years, I love my FBC family!  Everyone is good to me.  I couldn't imagine working anywhere else and getting the same support.  I thank God for that.

I have been married to my husband, Pete, for 49 years.  I have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.  Travelling, eating, and working outdoors are my hobbies.  I love spending time with my family and entertaining my grandchildren.

I love the Lord so much.  Through many difficult times He has always come through for me, He is faithful and provides at all times.   If I ever had an unanswered prayer, well it wasn't much later that I received something from Him and soon realized it was even better than what I had originally hoped and prayed for.  So if your prayers aren't answered just know God is all-knowing and He made you, loves you, and takes care of you
